Cover and First Page Done

avandia class action lawsuit

Last night we had a rocking rain storm that I played cut and paste to while watching hours of "Criminal Minds". Then I wrote out a little poem about the project (warning, co-participants, I am a lousy poet), cut out little hearts out of old NYTimes magazines (I knew there was a reason I was saving them!) and played with ink stamps. It came across as a nice quilted look.

Sorry about the lighting - I have no idea what was going on there. I also did a little watercolor wash on the first two pages, thinking I was going to do those, rather than the intro page. So, Kelly., if you don't want to use them, skip over them and do your own thing on the blanks!

I'm still finding random chunks of gluestick on my fingers...and in my hair... Last duty on this book is to lightly ModgePodge the cover and the page. I'll wait until after work tonight to do that.

I'm pretty pleased with the outcome. The cover came across very early 1980's punk rock, and the inside more crafty. Both kind of like me. Which is the theme of my book, Tell Me About You. In the next few days, I'll probably figure out a way to futz with it more. But one of the signs of a halfway decent artist is knowing when to say "when" and stop. I don't want to overdo it, but at the same time, I want this book packed with so much joy and love and creativity!

  1. I was going to make you a cover to go on it! Oh well, you have done a fabulous job.

I think I'm almost up to tackling doing the first page of mine. Didn't want to open the packet until I'm over the flu.
